HLT21020 Certificate II in Medical Service First Response
This program has been specifically designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver basic first aid in outdoor and recreational scenarios, encompassing a wide range of conditions and injuries. Through a practical, hands-on approach, students will learn how to improve patient outcomes in environments where traditional medical support may not be immediately available.
The program is tailored for individuals with backgrounds in activities such as scouting, sports training, remote adventure guiding, and wilderness first response.

Remote & Wilderness (RAW) First Responder

Participants will demonstrate competency through a combination of training and recognition of prior learning, applying their existing experience to meet the requirements of this qualification. The program is delivered with a strong emphasis on practical application, ensuring students can confidently respond to medical emergencies in the field. It is practical by nature with hands on workshops and adrenaline pumping scenarios designed to put your skills to the test.

Entry Requirements
An individual undertaking this qualification with Allens Training Pty Ltd will need to demonstrate the following to be eligible for entry:

Satisfactorily complete a language, numeracy and literacy assessment prior to or on course commencement to assess capacity to meet the LLN requirements of this course

Physical capability to be able to meet the demands of the practical demonstration skills

Protective slip resistant footwear/safety shoes must be provided by the student and worn during the practical sessions and assessment

Online study options: The online learning program can be found in the student portal. Students must have access to a computer, smart phone, tablet or other electronic device with access to the internet to complete the online studies and practical assessment.

Course Outcomes & Pathways
After successful completion of the program students will be awarded a Nationally Recognised Qualification for HLT21020 Certificate II in Medical Service First Response.
Units included in this qualification may provide credit towards a range of other health-related qualifications at Certificate II level and above, allowing students to continue with their Medical Service First Response knowledge and training and move into more advanced first aid/response training as a natural progression.
Students who successfully completed this qualification may be eligible for entry into further study such as: HLT31120 Certificate III in Non-Emergency Patient Transport, or HLT31220 Certificate III in Basic Health Care.
