Bring GoodSam to Queensland

Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is one of Australia’s biggest silent killers.
Every day, 80–100 Australians suffer an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and over 90% don’t survive. That’s around 30,000 people a year, with fewer than 3,000 surviving.
We know what saves lives:
Immediate CPR
Early defibrillation
Survival drops by 7–10% every minute CPR or defibrillation is delayed. But when bystanders act quickly, survival more than doubles with CPR and quadruples when a defibrillator is used. If defibrillation happens within 3–5 minutes, survival can reach 50–70%.
Around the world, the countries with the highest survival rates have volunteer/community responder programs. These systems alert trained locals to nearby cardiac arrests so help arrives before the ambulance.
Here’s what the research shows:
• When GoodSAM responders attend, patients are 7.5x more likely to receive CPR and 16x more likely to be defibrillated.
• There’s a 37% higher chance of surviving to hospital discharge.
• The world's leading authorities on resuscitation recommend community responders be dispatched to both homes and public places to reduce time to first compression and first shock.
GoodSAM integrates directly with emergency dispatch.
When someone calls Triple Zero (000) for a cardiac arrest, nearby registered responders receive an alert with the patient’s location and the closest AED. They can start CPR and defibrillation while the ambulance is on the way.
This system saves lives — and Queensland needs it.
Help us push for GoodSAM to be integrated into Triple Zero here in QLD.
