About the Course

The HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid course is designed to teach participants how to recognise, respond to, and manage a range of first aid situations. You’ll learn how to:

• Assess emergency scenes using the DRSABCD Action Plan

• Perform CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) on adults and infants

• Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) correctly

• Provide first aid for bleeding, burns, fractures, sprains, asthma, anaphylaxis, and shock

• Manage illness, injury, and medical emergencies until professional help arrives

Training and assessment are delivered in accordance with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines and current best-practice standards.

How often should I renew my first aid certification?
The HLTAID011 certification remains valid for three (3) years. However, the CPR component (HLTAID009) should be refreshed every 12 months in line with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) recommendations.
