PUAEME004 Provide emergency care for suspected spinal injury

 

This workshop is designed to give your sports trainers up to date skills and knowledge on spinal injury management. It is a practical workshop that gives participants plenty of hands on time to prepare for the real thing.

 

Topics include:

  • Recognition of potential spinal injuries

  • Mechanism of Injury

  • Signs and Symptoms

  • Initial management of the injured player

  • Cervical collars

  • Transporting the injured player

  • Scoop Stretchers

  • Spineboards

  • Ongoing management of the injured player   until the arrival of medical assistance

 

Includes a short session on concussion recognition

Duration: 5 hours face to face (or 2 hours for refresher course)

Cost $110/person

NOTES:

Due to the practical components of the course, participants are advised to wear comfortable casual attire.
