Level 3 Sports Trainer

The Level 3 Sports Trainer Course provides advanced knowledge and hands-on skills for managing injuries, providing sideline care, and supporting athletes during training and competition. Designed for experienced trainers, coaches and medics, this course builds capability in taping, assessment, emergency response, and return-to-play decisions. Ideal for those seeking senior sports trainer roles or working with high-performance teams.

Prerequisite

Existing Level 2 Sports Trainer (Evidence must be submitted)

Letter from club president or Senior Level 2 or higher Sports Trainer verifying minimum of 12 months working as a Level 2 Sports Trainer with a minimum of 50 hours work as a Sports Trainer

 

Certification

​

Upon successful completion of the Level 3 Sports Trainer Course participants will receive:

  • A statement of attainment issued by Allen's Training (RTO 90909) for the following nationally recognised units of competency:​​

  • HLTSS00068 - Occupational First Aid Skill Set​
    • HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid
    • HLTAID010 - Provide basic emergency life support

    • HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

    • HLTAID014 - Provide Advanced First Aid

    • HLTAID015- Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy

    • HLTAID016 - Manage first aid services and resources

  • PUAEME007- Provide emergency care for suspected spinal injury

  • PUAEME008- Provide pain management

Additional skills taught in the Level 3 Sports Trainer Certificate:

Comprehensive taping session including Kinesiology Taping

Injury Prevention- Stretching, Warm Up, Cool Down

Concussion Recognition & Management

*Introduction to Sports Massage

Mentoring Sports Trainers

*Pre-course study is required

Duration- 3 full days face to face (Self paced online theory is required to be completed prior to the face to face component)

Group bookings  are available with flexible schedules.– Eg– 6 nights instead of 3 full days. (minimum numbers apply)
